Junior Explorers Coordinator

Want to help children experience the wonder of nature by spending just a few hours a week on your home computer?  Friends of Edgewood’s Junior Explorer program provides field trips for schools and youth organizations, providing an interactive outdoor experience in Edgewood’s unique environment. Your job, as the Junior Explorers Program Coordinator, will be to respond to field trip requests and coordinate docents to lead field trips. No special expertise is required to be the Coordinator, only organizational ability and a desire to help kids get outdoors and appreciate our natural environment.Of course, if you would like to participate with the children in the field, you are welcome; it is not a requirement.

Job duties include:

  • Receive and respond to field trip requests over email
  • Send requests to docent team
  • Record volunteer hours contributed to the program
  • Keep basic records of field trips
  • Communicate with Friends of Edgewood Board on progress of program
